Schedule:
We will start with a quick review of covering spaces, and then introduce homology
and cohomology. Categories, functors and homological algebra will be treated as
they come up, which they most certainly will. Homotopy theory will be lurking
throughout, but will not be the primary focus of this first semester course.
You will
be responsible for material covered in class, whether it is in the book
or not.
Regular homework will be assigned and will be due at the start of
class on the assigned due date.
