Opera

This conference continues the tradition of having a topology conference in conjunction with a performance of the Indiana University opera. We have reserved a block of tickets for the 8:00 show on Saturday, October 21 for the opera:

It is now too late to reserve a ticket in this block, but you may be able to purchase tickets outside the block by following the links on Manon.

The Indiana University Events Calendar lists a number of events on Friday, including a university production of the hilarious musical Urinetown at the Wells-Metz Theatre.

Funding for Participants

Support for this conference comes from the Department of Mathematics and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research at Indiana University, and from a grant from the National Science Foundation.

The majority of this funding is being used to support travel and lodging expenses of junior mathematicians. Although this funding has now been allocated, it might still be possible for us to offer partial support.

Travel

Bloomington lies off of Indiana State Road 37, about 50 miles south of Indianapolis. Driving Directions.
For those planning to fly, the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is recommended.

The Department of Mathematics is in Rawles Hall on 3rd Street just west of the intersection of 3rd and Woodlawn Ave (map).
All talks are in Swain East 140 (SE140), which is just to the west of Rawles Hall.

This hotel is about 3 miles from the math department. Because of mall traffic and lack of sidewalks, driving is recommended. Please contact Mike Mandell if you need help arranging rides.

Parking

Parking is free 6pm Friday through 7am Monday at the Atwater Garage (map) near the math department.

Bloomington is on Eastern Daylight Time:
We have the same time as New York, Michigan, and Ohio, and are an hour ahead of Illinois and most of the rest of the Midwest.
